An important part of style, and fashion itself, is inspiration; whether you’re scouting street style images, visiting museums, or just getting inspiration from your friends, I have found that it’s so important to pay attention to the people, places and things around you.
While out in the city recently, I saw a woman wearing a striped knit dress, similar to the one in this post, and loved the way that she had styled it. Inspired by her look, I scoured the web to see if I could find my own version of her dress, and ended up stumbling upon this amazing color block option.
After struggling with what to pair with it, I decided to try something a bit different and throw on my black leather jacket for an edgier look. The jacket made the dress more season appropriate, while the black booties created a symmetry that helped to complete the outfit.
This has easily become one of my favorite looks (and my favorite dress), and I love that I was able to take inspiration from someone else and interpret it in my own way.
