As someone who has a full-time job and runs my blog on the side, it’s essential for me to make it a point to take breaks throughout the day to recharge and reassess my work for the rest of the day ahead of me. This all started when I began working from home part-time this summer. As some of you probably know, it can be quite a challenge to stay focused while sitting on the same couch that you lounge on and binge watch Netflix on the weekends, so I made it a point to find a way to help me stay more focused on my work.
After doing a bit of research online, I found that both mental and physical breaks throughout the day are essential and are sometimes a necessary way to boost creativity and improve focus. Many people choose to do different things; some like to meditate, some get out of their apartment and take a walk and some just choose to sit and relax and refresh to give their mind a break. For me, tea has always been a part of my daily routine, whether it be me enjoying it in a quick to-go cup in the morning on my way to the office (on the days that I go in) or my usual afternoon cup, it’s always been something that I’ve enjoyed.
Knowing this, I decided to make my afternoon cup of tea more of a “ritual” rather than just a way to boost my energy levels. By doing this, it allowed me to make it a point to take a few moments out of my day to focus on something that I not only enjoy, but something that also refreshes and re-energizes my body.
For me, my favorite “me-time” cup of tea has become the Tazo® Awake™ English Breakfast, which is a breakfast-style tea of malty boldness and bright flavor, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up. Not only does this little break from the day give me something to look forward to, but the Tazo Awake English Breakfast makes me feel recharged and ready to tackle the day head of me. They also carry other flavors like Passion® and Zen™ with hints of spearmint, orange peel and hibiscus, that are perfect for an afternoon break.
With the hustle and bustle of New York City right outside of my window, I know that it’s extremely important to take time for myself, to help stay grounded and focused in a city that is constantly on the go and the Tazo Tea helps me do just that.
